I wonder what this is??
It's a custom plinth (massage bed) made to specific measurements and height to cater for me and my clients (and if you were thinking anything else...JP engineering could.probably cater for that too 😀)

After having at least three, generic, foldable tables collapse under a client or myself, the creaking and swaying of a mobile table gives me chronic anxiety.

I'm not a feather light therapist and the weight bearing capabilities of light wood and cables rules out adding any of my direct weight to the client / plinth.

And can we talk about the awful head cradle?? That bit where you put your face in? It's always moving forwards, creating a "horse bit" situation with its metal bar stabilizer that's now placed directly into your clients mouth. And once pushed far enough out, it collapses, leaving your clients head in space and them feeling guilty about "breaking your bed". Totally not ideal and if you don't use a cover (yes I always have a towel on top of the cradle), the leatherette will eventually peel off....onto your clients face, leaving them freckled and soiled and ....just no!

Jene is one of my ridiculously tall, ridiculously tight and ridiculously talented in metal work clients. Even with the head cradle, his feet dangle off my plinth and I'm afraid to fully engage because we'd land up in a wood chipped, pile on the floor.

And so....ta da...✨️

This year has seen a blossoming in my business and friendships, and has surpassed anything I could ever have hoped for as a Therapeutic Massage Therapist. I look forward to continuing in your journey and loosening those dam hip flexors ✨

This year I've added to my massage knowledge which has included GuaSha fascial/trigger point release, deeper anatomical knowledge, Thai massage stretching and a massive opportunity to understand and treat Cerebral Palsy clients and recovering stroke patients. I'm thankful to everyone who has allowed me the space and the trust to practice and refine these skills.

My list of ultra marathon runners, international squash players, senior post-op patients, golfers, padel players, cyclists, expectant Mamas and corporate professionals has continued to grow and I couldn't have done that without the referrals ... THANK YOU 💖

A special thank you to my waxing volunteers, who have allowed me to rip hair out of some of their no-no places all with a smile and a tearful "it's okay, I'm fine!".

I have had a wonderful opportunity to treat a beautiful, 17 year old Cerebral Palsy patient. Not knowing very much about the disease, I contacted Little Eden in Edenvale to perhaps assist me in getting to understand what is happening with these special individuals.

Their resident Physiotherapist, Sharise took a couple of hours out of her hectic morning routine to give me a tour of the facility (which is beautiful, by the way) share her insights and knowledge about the disease and it's progression and how it affects the muscles and the brain of a child who has been born with CP.

After that, we got to work treating two teenagers, Respect and Lovely, who were so pleased to have company and loved being stretched and massaged. Their smiles and laughter were so rewarding and the almost immediate change in posture and muscle tone was too.

I have now got a firm grip on what is required successfully massage and stretch patients with CP without causing harm or pain.
