# DStv Viewers Left Surprised as Five Indian Channels Face the Axe

**South African DStv viewers who enjoy Indian television are facing a major change, with five popular channels set to disappear from the Add Indian package.**

From **31 October 2026**, subscribers will no longer have access to **SET Asia, Zee TV, SET Max, Zee Cinema and WION** as part of the package.

The changes have left some viewers wondering what will happen to their favourite shows, movies and news programmes.

The Add Indian package currently costs **R280 per month**, but after the channel removals, only **Star Plus, Star Vijay and Colors TV** will remain.

MultiChoice, the company behind DStv, says the changes are part of an effort to provide customers with a more focused selection of channels. The company is also expected to provide more information about a possible reduced price for the package.

The changes mark another major shake-up for DStv's Indian entertainment offering, which has been available in South Africa for many years.

For loyal viewers, however, one question remains: **Will three channels be enough to replace the five that are disappearing?**

As the October deadline approaches, DStv subscribers will have to decide whether the remaining channels still offer enough entertainment to keep them subscribed.

BIG BOOST FOR SUNDOWNS!

Monnapule Saleng and Keanu Cupido are back ahead of the MTN8 final!

Mamelodi Sundowns take on defending champions Orlando Pirates this Saturday at a sold-out Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. Kickoff is 6pm.

🔹 Cupido returns after several weeks out following off-season surgery on a shoulder and arm injury.
🔹 Saleng has been eased back into the squad after being separated from the first team over repeated disciplinary breaches.
🔹 He's also a former Pirates player, known for big-match temperament. He scored a free kick from a tight angle near the corner flag in an MTN8 final against AmaZulu.

Sundowns have won the MTN8 only once in 18 years, in 2021. Could Saleng be the difference-maker against his old club? 👀

Rabada to start

Anrich Nortje has not played a first-class game since his last Test, three years and eight months ago, but that does not mean he hasn't been near a red ball. Quite the opposite.

"My prep from quite some time back has been red-ball," he said from Durban, where South Africa have begun build-up to the three-Test series against Australia, which starts on October 9.

There is a bit of hope among some people that this season, Bronny James will start to contribute more as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. The third-year guard is now on his own after his famous father departed to join the Philadelphia 76ers, and he has continued to work hard on his game
