It’s been a bit quiet on here… but not behind the chair.

I haven’t been posting much, I’ve just been working. Creating. Getting back into that space where you stop overthinking and just trust what you see.

No strict formulas.
No perfect placement.
I don’t plan every detail… I feel it.

Each section, each colour, it just comes together the way it’s meant to.

This one was fun. A little bold, a little different, but still balanced in its own way.

I’m back. No rules. Just instinct.

Thank you for your incredible support throughout this year. I am especially grateful to God for blessing me with hands that can be part of your hair journey and your confidence.

Please note that my calendar for the remainder of the year is fully booked. I will be accepting new appointments again in 2026.

The Studio Tec will close for the festive season from 20 December 2025 and reopen on 5 January 2026.

Dear Stylists, Listen Up

There’s enough hair, hairspray, and high drama in this world for everyone.

You’ve got your loyal ones: the ride-or-dies who’ve been with you since your foils were sketchy and your confidence came from caffeine and chaos. They’re your people. Cherish them like your favorite shears.

Then you’ve got the special occasion clients: they appear for weddings, birthdays, or when their emotions are acting up.

The chair hoppers still out there searching for “the one.” Bless their mission.

Some love your work but not your price. Some love your vibe but not your realness. Some just aren’t your people and that’s okay.

You’re not built to do the world’s hair. You’ve got two hands, one heart, and limited emotional bandwidth and caffein so coping with all of them is just not possible. You were made for your people the ones who feel at home in your chair and see your worth without questioning it.

And yes, sometimes we get it wrong. You’re only human, darling. Sometimes your craft and your canvas just aren’t vibing and that’s okay too.

Keep your head high and your scissors sharp. The right ones will always find their way back to your chair and when they do, they’ll rebook before they stand up.

So keep your chin up and hairflair forward.

Let’s talk about it… why is everyone’s hair falling out right now?!
You’re not imagining it — hair loss is on the rise, and it’s not just genetics. Here’s what could be going on:

1. Chronic Stress:
Life’s been heavy. Emotional or physical stress (burnout, anxiety, illness) can shock your system and cause hair to shed in clumps. It’s called telogen effluvium — and yes, it’s common.

2. Nutrient Deficiencies:
Your hair needs fuel. Low iron, vitamin D, B12, zinc, or protein can mess with your growth cycle and cause breakage or thinning.

3. Weight Loss Meds & Other Drugs:
Ozempic,antidepressants, and even some acne meds can trigger shedding as a side effect — especially with fast weight loss or appetite changes.

4. Hormonal Imbalances:
Thyroid issues, PCOS, menopause, postpartum shifts — they all impact hair growth. When hormones are off, your strands feel it.

5. Post-COVID Hair Shedding:
If you had COVID in the last 6 months and now your hair’s falling out — you’re not alone. It’s a delayed response your body has to major stress or illness.

6. Sebum Buildup on the Scalp:
If you’re skipping proper scalp care, oil, dead skin, and product buildup can suffocate your roots and clog follicles — leading to inflammation and shedding. Clean scalp = thriving strands.

7. Social Media Hair Panic:
The hyper-focus on “perfect hair” online can make normal shedding (50–100 strands/day) feel terrifying. Some of it’s just… perspective.

Here’s the good news: most of this hair loss is temporary — but it’s still worth investigating. Bloodwork, scalp care, and stress support can make a huge difference.
