There have been a few new faces around Base Coat this month, and we know some of you have been wondering what’s happening behind the scenes. 🤍 So we thought it was time to properly share the news.

From October, Chrissy will officially take over as the new owner of Base Coat, with Leah joining us as our lady of the house. September has simply been a month of slowly settling in, learning the ropes and getting to know all of you before the official handover.

And most importantly, Base Coat isn’t going anywhere. We’re staying right here in Melkbos, bookings continue as usual, and many of the faces you already know and love are staying too. Owethu, Anri and Jade will still be taking care of your nails, Corné and Natasha your hair, Anthea your lashes, and Bianca and Dr Mari-Louise will continue seeing her clients at Base Coat.

At the same time, we’re saying goodbye to some incredibly special people. Lindie, Eloma, Hanna and Katy, thank you for the part each of you has played in Base Coat’s story. Lindie and the team built a salon that became so much more than a place to have your nails done. It became a little community, filled with friendships, conversations and a lot of laughter.

Chrissy and Leah aren’t here to take away what made Base Coat special. They’re here to look after it, build on it and bring their own love and ideas into its next chapter.

There will be new things to look forward to, but the heart of Base Coat remains. 🤍
