My Thyroid Cancer Story. 🤍

If I’m being completely honest, I was angry with God.

For six months, I fought with Him every single day.

“Why me, Father? Why did I have to get cancer?”

I questioned Him. I questioned the plan. I questioned why this had to be my story.

And the answer I kept coming back to was:

“You are strong enough, and My grace is sufficient for you.”

At the time, I didn’t understand that answer.

I still don’t fully understand why.

But I’ve learned that faith doesn’t always mean having answers. Sometimes it means choosing to trust God when you have absolutely no idea what He is doing.

Cancer changed a lot for me.

It stripped away the illusion that I was in control. It showed me how quickly life can change. It humbled me. It scared me. It made me angry. It made me cry. It made me grateful for things I had never thought twice about before.

There were moments I felt incredibly alone.

There were moments my body was exhausted beyond anything I had ever experienced.

And there were moments where all I could do was hold onto the little bit of faith I had left and say:

“Okay, God. I don’t understand this. But I trust You.”

I had to learn that being angry with God didn’t mean I had stopped believing in Him.

And being afraid didn’t mean I wasn’t strong.

I was both.

I was scared and faithful.
Angry and grateful.
Broken and still standing.

And through all of it, His grace really was enough.

Maybe one day God will use this story to help someone else who finds themselves walking through their own valley.

Maybe that is part of the reason I had to walk this road.

I don’t know.

But I no longer feel the need to have every answer.

For now, I choose to live in gratitude.

Grateful for life.
Grateful for the people who carried me.
Grateful for the doctors who fought alongside me.
Grateful for every prayer.
Grateful for every ordinary day that I once took for granted.

And grateful for a Father who never left me — not even in the valley.

The God of the mountain is the God of the valley.

I may never understand why.

But I know this:

His grace was enough then.
His grace is enough now.
And His grace will always be enough. 🤍
