First nerve stimulation session after a life-changing motor vehicle accident.

Following multiple surgeries after severe nerve injuries to his leg, my client has very limited sensation, with feeling currently present only in his big toe. Today marks the beginning of the next phase of his rehabilitation.

My approach combines sports massage, dry needling, electrical stimulation (Accu Pen), and red light therapy to create the best possible environment for recovery.

Why these treatments?
• Sports massage helps improve blood flow, reduce muscle tightness, and maintain soft tissue mobility, which is important when muscles have been inactive or compensating.
• Dry needling can reduce muscle guarding, improve movement, and help normalize muscle activation around the affected area.
• Electrical stimulation (Accu Pen) provides gentle stimulation to the nerves and muscles, encouraging neuromuscular activation and helping maintain communication between the nervous system and the muscles where possible.
• Red light therapy may support the body’s natural healing processes by improving cellular energy production, reducing inflammation, and promoting circulation—factors that may assist tissue recovery.

Nerve recovery is often a slow journey that can take months or even years, and every person responds differently. While no treatment can guarantee the return of sensation or function, the goal is to support the healing process, preserve muscle health, improve movement, and give the nervous system the best possible opportunity to recover.

Recovery isn’t measured in days—it’s measured in persistence. One session at a time. 💪
