This kitten season is genuinely devastating us. We barely have a second to breathe.
Our latest arrival is yet another litter of terrified little souls who are shaking and completely overwhelmed by everything around them.
The one silver lining is that Mom cat is scheduled to be trapped and sterilized next week. Ending this cycle for her is a huge win, but the sheer volume of medical care, food, and supplies needed is drowning our resources.

This one I was genuinely proud of because who would not.

I thought wow I nailed. I was like wow I cant wait to showcase this.

This cake was ordered in August. Baked freshly. My client came to collect the cake. Thanked me even sent the attached photo to say how she felt it was perfect. Except it was not in fact perfect for me

I received a phone call shortly before collection by a male stating that I will be paid by another family member. Because they weren't buying gifts something to that extent. That the gentlemen on the phone will sort it out. Ok weird but ok. Ok sure why not years of working with them before so yeah. I was specifically told please don't hold the cake back because its not paid for. Right so I give it. All of you know I have done this many a times with a lot of people!

I waited an appropriate amount of time then asked nicely as a reminder to the male in question. Then came weeks of me asking nicely. Sometimes brutally honest begging. Asking for a payment arrangement maybe R100 a week. Again and again promise to pay.

I then around the 11th of September I think after bumping into said female client at a random school event. I still had this aching struggling. My stomach ached to be honest because how do I actually start this.

Somehow got up the courage and contacted her that evening the female client. Stated this is whats happening it's been almost a month. She had no idea this had happened. 1 and 1 was not making sense but i was very hurt and at the time felt emotions as per below in the comments.

A long story not intended for social media because the whatsapp conversations speak for themselves and I have documented them in full and on record. And the aftermath. The fallout from this. Me feeling less than human because the decor was paid from my pocket, the time and the ingredients. Not to mention my happiness at the initial reaction from this mom. Its a mom thing when your little ones party you know went well. So yes

As any of my longstanding clients will also mention on my behalf. How much extra I give and to be honest my passion is deminished.

After i pleaded for days not understanding how someone can actually do this to me. I would say i went as far as to start asking daily because wow. I was never in this position before. I was out of pocket and I said please just pay me for my work. PLEASE. The amount of messages and calls from the male honestly psychologically did me in not only that I couldn't record the voice calls. What was worse is his final voice-notes. This also coming from what I figured out of a business man. And here I am demoralised and deflated

And that is all I shall say.

I had this Sunday lunch. This Sunday that passed and let me tell you absolutely amazing. I made a mixture of decisions and some extra pumpkin fritters OMGoodness it was amazing. So glad someone told me about this because wowza! It was prob over 2kg of cooked food for under R200 that could have easily fed 3 people. I may have just enjoyed it over a few meals by myself but my picky eater did enjoy some too.

See you this sunday also take a plate if you want too they allow that and wrap it really good. Also when I asked for not too much gravy they out the perfect amount. I love this!

Bonus points order your Sutherlands pizza and have it delivered there. You sorted for Sunday's meal and Monday's supper.

Like my friend from Perfectly Partied would say "WE MOVE" no matter what happens we just look ahead and get the job done.

A little update moving forward:

✨ August is now almost fully booked.
✨ September has only a handful of available dates remaining, so if you are wanting to place an order, please get in touch as soon as possible.
✨ I will also be taking medical leave for part of October, during which I unfortunately will not be able to accept or complete any orders.

I would also like to kindly remind everyone about payment of invoices. I have recently had a number of instances where invoices were only paid after the order had already been collected.

As my cakes and baked-from-scratch goods often include costly ingredients, detailed work and custom décor, I kindly ask that all invoices be paid in full and reflecting in my account before collection takes place.

Your order will only be considered fully confirmed once payment has been received.
