It's powdery, herbal leather, and even more suede - in a sweet shade.

Unfortunately, I did not find aroma of my dreamed tomato leaves here either.

But Italian Leather is an incredibly pleasant fragrance and fits perfectly with my black leather jacket 😁

L’Homme Ultime - YSL - Review

L’Homme Ultime is a discontinued L’Homme flanker, created by Anne Flipo, Dominique Ropion and Juliette Karagueuzoglou.

It starts off with an uplifting and radiant combination of grapefruit, ginger and cardamom.
Those three notes work so well together which makes the opening absolutely lovely.
It’s my favourite stage of the composition and i wish it could last forever..

As soon as the top notes begin to fade away, the scent starts to reveal its floral heart, but even if you don’t like rose, there’s no reason to be intimidated by Ultime’s floral aspects.

This is a nice, masculine take on rose.

Fresh and dewy rose nuances in the mid are enriched with aromas of geranium, apple and sage, therefore this combination smells sweet, a bit fruity and aromatic and remains pretty much unchanged until the drydown.

As it settles, the scent becomes darker and predominantly woody, due to a mix of cedarwood, vetiver, cashmere wood, tamed rose and the hint of aromatics.

I’ll admit that the drydown is not quite as beautiful as the opening and it does smells fairly generic, but i like L’Homme Ultime nevertheless.

This is a designer release and a flanker, so you shouldn’t expect it to be groundbreaking, after all.

It’s very bright, pleasant and inoffensive and the rose makes it kinda unique.
The performance on my skin is excellent, Ultime is very versatile and can be worn all year-round, but I’d suggest wearing it mostly in the spring, summer and early fall.

Truth to be told, i don’t wear it as much as i used to, a few years back, but i still like it and even got myself a backup bottle.

Prada Amber - Review

Prada is best known for its soapy, clean fragrances and no matter how popular Prada L’Homme line currently is, i still consider Prada Amber to be their best fragrance in this genre.

A timeless classic created by Daniela Roche Andrier…

It opens up very zesty and fresh, due to a lovely mix of mandarin, neroli and bergamot that forms a short and inviting overture to the first act, where cardamom plays an important role.

It smells slightly sweet and spicy and blends beautifully with citruses in the opening, but also announces the main, soapy accord made from orange blossom, vetiver, musk, geranium and myrrh.

Orange blossom is the usual suspect when it comes to soapy fragrances so it’s very prominent in this composition, as well.

The soapy accord in the mid smells very rich and smooth and reminds me of an expensive bar of soap, sweetened with cardamom and supported by sweet, oriental, ambery base which includes notes of labdanum, vanilla and tonka.

The smell of soap remains fresh, clean and intense for a couple of hours, before the whole composition mellows down to a velvety, slightly powdery concoction of vanilla, tonka, leather and sandalwood…

I appreciate the simplicity of this fragrance as much as i love the minimalist bottle design and this gorgeous, purple colour of the juice inside.

Prada Amber is refined and inoffensive which makes it very versatile and office friendly.

This scent is suitable for all seasons, for all occasions and it’s a must have if you’re into soapy fragrances.
