Hoe het ek hier gekom?🤔

Ons almal het daardie oomblik. Jy geniet die lewe, jy is tevrede, en dan sien jy ‘n foto wat jou dwing om die waarheid in die oë te kyk.

Ons was by Anlia en Eben se troue en ek het goed gevoel in my eie vel. Ek was opreg gelukkig... totdat ek na die tyd ‘n foto van myself by die troue in ‘n tydskrif gesien het. Op daardie oomblik het ek besef my gesondheid is besig om weg te gly.

Ek het myself afgevra: Hoe het ek hier gekom? Hoe het ek dinge so ver laat gaan? Hoekom het my man niks gesê nie? Ek het geweet hoe ek kán lyk en voel, en dat die pad waarop ek was, nie die regte een is nie. Ek het besef dat, al was ek emosioneel gelukkig, my liggaam op ‘n ongesonde pad was. Gewigsverlies gaan oor soveel meer as net ‘n syfer op die skaal—dit gaan oor jou gesondheid (vir jouself en jou mense!) en om jouself weer in die spieël te herken.

Daardie vrou op die foto was ek, maar dit was nie my “lyf” nie. Ek het geweet ek moes iets doen.

As jy vandag na ‘n foto van jouself kyk en voel soos ‘n vreemdeling in jou eie liggaam, weet dat jy nie alleen is nie. Ek het die pad gestap en ek weet presies hoe jy voel. As jy nie weet waar om te begin nie, help ek jou graag.
