🚨 SCAM ALERT: QR CODE PHISHING IS BACK IN SA 🚨

This is called “quishing”—a new twist on phishing where fraudsters send you a QR code via WhatsApp, SMS or email pretending to be your bank.

One victim scanned a code sent by “Standard Bank” and lost everything. It wasn’t the bank—it was a scam.

⚠️ Here’s what to remember: ✅ Only scan codes from trusted sources
✅ Type the website manually if unsure
✅ Don’t ever enter your login or card info from a scan
✅ Keep your apps & antivirus updated

Banks like Capitec, Absa, Nedbank, and Standard Bank confirm they will never ask you to scan a code via unsolicited messages.

Be smart. Don’t scan yourself into debt.

Passwords are dying. Microsoft just gave them 72 hours.

They’re moving to passkeys: no text, no phishing, no leaks.

Apple and Google are in too.

It’s not just safer — it’s the death of the old internet login.
