Few weeks ago just at 6am as I going to work i passed by Maponya mall to get cash. I saw a long winding quest and I began to wonder what was happening. It reminded the long ques of 1994 elections . So I asked a security man by the gate what was happening. He said its 350 line. What a shock. I have these ques in another places but what I saw there was shocking. The whole day I was still thinking what I saw in the morning. So two weeks later I visited Joburg city accompanying a friend to buy stock for someone in Eastern Cape to sell. We went up other side of Joburg where cheap things are sold. Shocking again. Almost all shops are owned by foreign nationals. Even street vendors are foreigners. No SAns I saw owning a shop but foreigners. Wow. What irony is this. SAns are queuing for 350 grant while foreigners are running business in our own backyard. What kind of people are. Why do we wait to given fish instead of going fishing . We have been bewitched. Other people are making money while we complained about government who does fulfill promises. Really??? Government must play its role but we need to rise from this mediocrity. Otherwise we will be employed by these foreigners on full scale. Township spazas are owners by these people. I m not against them. But I m worried by the level blindness to see opportunities. In the early 2000 there was a slogan or what what that said South africa is alive with possibilities. Its unfortunate that we don't them while others see them. Vuka Mzansi vuka.
