Today was a good day

I feel so honoured to be writing about a beautiful experience that I was made apart of this morning.

I am a makeup artist by trade and have been apart of so many magnificent occasions like weddings, matric dances, birthday celebrations, the list is endless. It is the reason I love what I do, but NEVER have I been part of something as pure and special as today’s work brought…

My lovely neigbours, who I have known for a number of years called me up for a special request. I have always admired this couple, in business, in their attentiveness and care for others but I especially admire them for the relationship they share with one another.

My neigbours wife suffers from a disorder which causes a cognitive decline. She can no longer apply make up on a daily basis as it has become somewhat of a challenge now.

Her husband went out and bought her own brand of make up and accessories, and today I went over and taught him techniques so that HE may apply her make up for her.

We laughed together, the atmosphere was so welcoming and I could feel the palpable adoration between them. My entire soul, in that moment, has never been so calm, still, reflective and so full of life’s beauty!

In an era where true love is such a rarity, on my very doorstep, before my very eyes, I have been blessed enough to witness the love and respect between two incredible people🙏🏽
