BOTOX®: WHAT DOES IT ACTUALLY DO?

Expression lines form because the muscles beneath our skin contract when we smile, frown or raise our eyebrows. Over time, some of these lines can become more noticeable, even when the face is at rest.

BOTOX® works by temporarily relaxing specific facial muscles responsible for these lines.

It can be used to treat three common areas:

→ Forehead lines
→ Frown lines between the eyebrows
→ Crow’s feet around the eyes

Importantly, BOTOX® is not simply another name for all botulinum toxin treatments. It is a specific prescription medicine, and treatment should be performed by an appropriately qualified medical professional.

Today, Dr Anton Mathey is attending the AMI Signature™ Lift Up Approach launch, an advanced medical aesthetics event exploring the latest thinking in multimodal facial treatment.

The programme brings together international and local AMI faculty, including Dr Jake Sloane and Dr Izolda Heydenrych, to explore the foundational principles of MD Codes™ and the new Lift Up Protocol — looking at how BOTOX®, Juvéderm® and HarmonyCa™ can be used together to support natural-looking aesthetic outcomes.
