Detox Intensive Hair Cleanser

200ml : R119

Product Details
For All Hair Types

Often, harsh soaps and shampoos strip hair and skin of their natural oils, leaving you feeling dry all over. NuLengths Detox Natural Hair Cleanser rinse helps to counteract the damage caused by balancing your hair and scalp's natural pH levels.

NuLengths Detox Natural Hair Cleanser rinse will help to remove scaly build-up and residue from the hair shaft and close the hair cuticle. Since hair has a naturally low (slightly acidic) pH, our Natural Cleanser rinse will help close the hair cuticle and lock in moisture and protein.

NuLengths Natural Cleanser Rinse will…

Nourish hair
Regulate PH
Moisturise scalp and hair strands
Prevent hair from shedding
Promote blood circulation on the scalp
Aid in hair growth
Treat dry scalp, fungi, and bacteria

When the cuticle is in good shape, is unbroken, and lies flat, your hair has a smooth appearance. When the layers of the cuticle are tightly knit together, the light is able to reflect off the cuticle, creating tangle-free hair that shines. The cuticle opens when we shampoo our hair.

When the cuticle layers are open and not knit together, the hair will feel rough, coarse and brittle. The hair will absorb the light rather than reflect it, which gives the appearance of dull and lifeless hair. NuLengths Detox Natural Hair Cleanser works as a natural detangler and has a tonic action that promotes blood circulation in the small capillaries that irrigate the skin.

When used regularly in your natural hair care routine, NuLengths Detox Natural Hair Cleanser will revitalise your hair, leaving it soft and smooth.

Rapid Repair Hair Oil

120 ml : R219

60 ml : R129

10 ml samples : R35

Product Details
NuLengths Hair Oil range is packed with the power of high-quality plant-based oils, enriching, hydrating, softening and protecting normal, dry and damaged hair.

Our Rapid Repair Hair Oil has been designed to condition normal hair and treat those medium to severe cases of dry and damaged hair with an abundance of nutrient rich natural ingredients.

Coconut Oil
Is often said to be the best oil to use on your hair to reduce protein loss and keep it looking healthy and shiny and there is evidence behind this claim. Further benefits of coconut oil are lice prevention, sun protection, dandruff treatment and hair loss prevention.

It has been found that coconut oil was better at preventing protein loss than other oils when applied either before or after the hair was washed. In fact, coconut oil came out on top in all of the studies and reduced protein loss in hair that was undamaged, bleached, chemically treated and UV exposed.

Coconut oil is predominantly made up of a medium-chain fatty acid called lauric acid. This gives coconut oil a long, straight structure, which is more easily absorbed deep into the hair shaft.

Coconut oil could help you grow your hair longer by:
Moisturizing your hair and reducing breakage
Protecting your hair from protein loss and damage when wet
Protecting your hair from environmental damage like wind, sun and smoke
Almond Oil
Almond oil for hair, which is jam-packed with good stuff, including omega-3 fatty acids, phospholipids, vitamin E, and magnesium, that will help strengthen and nourish your strands. Is an emollient, meaning it can fill in gaps in your hair at a cellular level. That makes your hair feel smoother to the touch. Using almond oil on your hair gives it a softer texture over time. Once almond oil is incorporated into your hair care routine, you may also notice that your hair is easier to comb through and style.
Almond oil strengthens and repairs and can make it less prone to breakage and diminish split ends. The lubricating properties of nut oils, like almond oil, diminish friction during hair styling.

Could Almond oil make your hair grow? There aren’t clinical trials that prove that almond oil is effective in making hair grow. But here’s what we do know: almond oil can make hair stronger and less prone to split ends, which means your hair growth won’t be slowed by losing hair that becomes damaged. Almond oil contains high amounts of vitamin E, which is a natural antioxidant. When antioxidants combat the environmental stress around your hair, your hair looks younger and healthier.

Almond oil can also be used as a treatment for flaky scalp (seborrheic dermatitis) and scalp psoriasis. Rubbing a small amount of almond oil directly on your scalp increases blood flow to the area and introduces powerful antioxidants to the skin on your head.
It will leave strands smooth, shiny, and healthy looking—especially if you’re dealing with dryness at the ends of hair, which happens to be a common problem amongst women with coily and curly textures
Using almond oil nourishes and strengthens your hair, and is optimal for damaged hair, almond oil is higher in monosaturated fats (it’s made up of 70 percent of them, while coconut oil and argan oil have only six and 45 percent respectively), which helps it pe*****te the hair shaft more easily. Because of its ability to sink in, almond oil is great to use on the ends of your hair, especially strands that have become particularly porous from sun damage and heat styling (and which have endured the most).

Almond oil prevents hair from absorbing too much water, this may sound counterintuitive. However, when hair absorbs too much water too quickly, it makes cuticle scales stand up. This leaves hair more porous and ultimately susceptible to dehydration and breakage. Healthy hair has a lower porosity and is somewhat hydrophobic to balances the amount of water that hair absorbs. So basically, almond oil for hair yields healthy hair, which will thus show itself in shine and smoothness.

Sweet Orange Essential Oil
Sweet orange oil has a lot of amazing benefits for your hair, it has a soothing effect on irritated skin, which is wonderful news for your scalp. It’s both antiseptic and anti-inflammatory, which makes it perfect for those prone to dandruff and other scalp issues. Is an excellent moisturizer for brittle hair, you can treat dry or damaged hair that can cause split ends as its known to improve the smoothness of strands, orange oil works as a natural moisturizer and will increase the elasticity of hair follicles. Sweet Orange Oil infuses vitamin C into the hair and strengthens your roots which is essential for hair growth.

The essential oil’s properties reduce the number of blocked pores, allowing your hair to fully exfoliate. Sweet orange will make your hair smell fantastic (for both men and women) without expensive, toxic perfumes. The fruit’s oil is rich in antioxidants for healthier, happier hair. For those with oily hair, the essential oil has intense antibacterial activity.

The antibacterial qualities contained in the citrus flavanones of the orange make it suitable as a treatment for hair infested with lice.

Most OTC (over-the-counter) solutions for a head full of lice contain high levels of a toxic pesticide known as lindane. This is actually a chemical which many countries around the world ban for agricultural use. So why on earth would you want to get anywhere near the stuff, let alone wash your hair with it?

The natural antioxidants and antibacterial qualities of the orange essence help to ward off any lice that might be in your hair. They also help give your hair a protective coat that keeps them from coming back. The powerful citrusy odor repels them, much like eucalyptus or lemongrass oil does to mosquitos. And the anti-inflammatory agents in the oil will also kill off any eggs that might have been laid. Plus, they’ll reduce any itchiness or irritation that usually occurs on the scalp during an infestation.

These same anti-inflammatory agents also kill off any dead skin cells on your scalp which normally lead to dandruff. So by treating the source of the problem, not only the symptoms, you can effectively use orange oil as a natural substitute for anti-dandruff shampoos that can leave some hair types feeling dry or brittle.

Peppermint Essential Oil
While peppermint oil may be known for some skin care benefits, it’s also good for your hair and scalp. It may help with dryness, itching, or other scalp problems.

The benefits of peppermint essential oil can be described as antimicrobial, insecticidal and pesticidal, analgesic and anesthetic, vasodilating (and vasoconstricting), anti-inflammatory.

Some people have used the oil as a remedy for hair loss. This may be because the menthol in peppermint essential oil is a vasodilator, and vasodilators improve blood flow. In many instances (such as in female or male pattern baldness), hair loss occurs due to starved blood flow to hair follicles. Increasing circulation with a vasodilator like peppermint could potentially improve hair growth and prevent some hair loss.

Peppermint menthol also imparts a freshened smell and tingly sensation on the skin and scalp. Peppermint oil is extracted from the leaves of the peppermint plant, which contains over 40 different chemical compounds

For your hair, peppermint has been known to stimulate the hair follicles, promote growth, and rebalance the scalp, says Paula Simpson, biochemist, author, and formulation expert. Plus, since it’s an essential oil that has microbial, insecticidal, and anti-inflammatory properties, “it can help with itching of the scalp,”

Various studies have looked into the effects of using peppermint oil on your hair, and the overall findings have pointed to hair growth promoting properties, along with clarifying benefits.

Peppermint oil can also be a solid remedy to an itchy scalp. “Its ability to neutralize certain pathogenic micro-organisms on the skin’s surface makes it an interesting and effective ingredient for combatting a dry, itchy scalp,

When it comes to clarifying, the active ingredient is particularly beneficial for oily hair types. “Peppermint oil works best if you have oily hair, and is more difficult to use if you have dry or brittle hair,” says Dr. King. Using it regularly will regulate oil production and buildup on the scalp, which will result in more shine, too.

Directions:
For optimal results, use 1 - 2 times per week, dampen hair slightly with water and very gently work 4 or 5 drops (depending on hair length and texture) through your hair and scalp before shampooing to nourish your hair, before blow drying to protect your hair or as a leave-in to give the ultimate smoothness and shine.

Hot Oil Treatment:
Warm a small amount of oil in the microwave. You shouldn’t have to warm it for more than a few seconds. The oil should be warm and not hot to the touch. Apply the warm oil to your scalp and massage in.

Use a wide-tooth comb to disburse the oil down the hair shaft and cover with a shower cap for 20 minutes, prior to shampooing.

To remove excess oil buildup, try NuLengths Detox Natural Cleanser.

External use only! Avoid getting into eyes. Do not use on broken scalp. In the unlikely event of skin irritation, discontinue use. Individual results may vary.

Ingredients:
Organic Coconut Oil (Cocos nucifera), Sweet Almond Oil (Prunus dulcis), Orange Essential Oil (Citrus sinensis), Peppermint Essential Oil (Mentha × piperita).

Regenerate Hair Oil

120 ml : R249

60 ml : R169

10 ml samples : R40

Product Details
NuLengths Hair Oil range is packed with the power of high-quality plant-based oils, enriching, hydrating, softening and protecting dry and damaged hair.

Hair oils aren't just for dry hair that's thick or curly. Even the finest of hair can benefit from using a hair oil in their routine. The perfect hair oil for your hair type can help tackle frizz and flyaways, repair damage from heat or bleach, and add shine and moisture without leaving your hair looking like a greasy mess.

Our lighter Regenerate Hair Oil has been designed to treat more fine hair with an abundance of nutrient rich natural ingredients as well as those less severe cases of dry and damaged hair.

This lighter combination of high quality oils do not leave a greasy residue, provide vitamin E, essential fats, proteins, magnesiumand antioxidants, which help treat and repair damaged strands.

What are the characteristics of fine hair?
Fine hair might appear very full when washed and air-dried, but falls flat and limp when straightened or blow-dried.
Fine hair is easily weighed down by heavy oils, creams, and butters.
Fine hair is fragile and easily prone to breakage when overmanipulated.
Fine hair takes easily to color or dye.
Fine hair usually doesn’t hold a hairstyle too well.
As fine hair tends to get weighed down by products, you’d be better off using products that are quickly absorbed into the strand and that do not leave a heavy coating. Argan oil, almond oil, grapeseed oil, and jojoba oil do not leave a greasy residue on fine strands.

Since fine hair is easily prone to mechanical damage, it is beneficial to use oils that have protective, strengthening, and restorative properties. Our inclusion of Grapeseed oil can actively work to protect fine hair from environmental or mechanical damage.

Sweet Almond oil

So basically, almond oil for hair yields healthy hair, which will thus show itself in shine and smoothness.

Jojoba oil
Jojoba oil is actually a wax ester that is used as a non-greasy, moisturizing hair oil. It is the most similar to the sebum produced by the sebaceous glands in your scalp.

Jojoba oil is comprised of 97% monounsaturated fats. The other 3% is made up of acids and natural alcohols. Due to its nutrient-rich structure, jojoba may help to moisturize and condition hair by penetrating its outer cuticle.

By applying the oil before shampooing, you create a seal that prevents ingredients like sulfates from stripping your hair of its natural oils. If you apply it to damp hair after washing, you provide substantial moisture to the hair shaft at a time when the hair follicles are at their most permeable. Overall, it's a great option for anyone who has thin hair that often gets weighed down by heavy conditioners.

It mimics the oil naturally produced by the sebaceous glands of your skin, making it a reparative ingredient for a compromised moisture barrier. Jojoba delivers hydration to strands without disrupting your scalp's natural pH balance. Similarly, jojoba oil will not cause your scalp to produce more or less of its own oil, so you can expect it to moisturize hair without leaving it overly greasy.

As the properties of jojoba oil may help clear the scalp of dandruff and support scalp moisture without disrupting its natural oil creation, there is a chance it can also aid in hair growth.

All of the fatty acids and natural alcohols found in jojoba provide much-needed nutrition to your hair. The plant contains high concentrations of vitamins B and E, as well as minerals like zinc. These are said to stimulate hair growth while providing antioxidant protection.

Jojoba oil does not pe*****te as deeply as other oils, so it will sit on the outer cuticle of each strand and help fill in the cracks. Furthermore, the oil possesses calming properties that condition and soften strands, leaving you with a smooth and silky finish.

It's also rich in antioxidants has natural antifungal and antibacterial agents, all of which make it great for reducing scalp inflammation that appears as redness, itching, or flaking.

Grapeseed Oil
Just like your skin and body need antioxidants, so do your hair and scalp. Antioxidants neutralize and stop free radical damage, therefore protecting hair from various concerns ranging from brittleness and breakage to hair loss and graying. Grapeseed oil is thought to have impressive antioxidant properties.

Grapeseed oil can be used to keep in moisture as well as add strength and shine to the hair, oils coat the strand, and their reflective nature allows light to bounce off the hair, making strands appear more lustrous, if you're looking for simplistic natural options for hair care, this could be ideal for you. It also helps to lock in moisture, therefore preventing split ends and dryness. Grapeseed oil is odorless and lighter than olive oil and coconut oil, so it's ideal for fine hair as it won't leave the hair feeling greasy

It's also used as an aid in helping to loosen and remove dandruff from the scalp. Dandruff and flakes can be triggered from a few reasons ranging from dry skin to fungal overgrowth. Oils help the former by conditioning the skin cells as well as loosening up any dead skin cell flakes already present.

Perhaps for its role as an antioxidant protector or for its role as a superpowered conditioner this is a popular oil for those with textured hair. This oil is favored by many in the natural hair community. As kinks, curls, and coils tend to be more delicate and breakage-prone, finding an oil that helps strands grow strong (without pulling down curls) is vital.

Lemongrass Essential oil
Lemongrass Oil can eliminate or inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria due to its Citral content, which is known to have anti-microbial properties. Lemongrass Oil can reduce inflammation due to its Limonene content, and it can slow down the flow of blood by contracting blood vessels. Dandruff can be a common ailment, and having a healthy, flake-free scalp is an important part of hair health. Lemongrass oil is an effective dandruff treatment, with one 2015 study finding that it significantly reduced dandruff after one week.

Filled with numerous health benefits, Lemongrass can also help as an Anti-inflammatory, Analgesic, Anti-biotic, Anti-mutagenic, Anti-viral, Anti-septic, Anti-oxidant, Anti-fungal, Anti-microbial and Anti-depressant.

Lemongrass oil can strengthen your hair follicles, and it's great for those with dandruff. Lemongrass oil has astringent properties that can help keep the hair squeaky clean in between washes. It also promotes contraction hair follicles, thereby preventing hair shedding with regular use.

Castor oil (Ricinus communis), Olive Oil (Olea europaea), Organic Coconut Oil (Cocos nucifera), Sweet Almond Oil (Prunus dulcis), Lavender Essential Oil (Lavandula angustifolia), Peppermint Essential Oil (Mentha × piperita).
