I am delighted to announce that I just obtained my certification in Diplomatic Practice Protocol and Public Relations from the Zambia Institute Of Diplomacy And International Studies.
The journey was good and as a Class Representative, I must say this led me to practice more patience heading a class of men and women older than me.
It has enhanced my communication skills to better express myself as a leader, especially in the face of the Submission of details that were needed for the institution's records.
My class was diverse with diplomats from all sorts of life and careers and very busy individuals being a class rep did not come easy but understanding this diversity helped me implement a few strategies such as making announcements immediately after a lecture, pushing due dates and times a little earlier than the actual time to help make up time for late submissions by my busy colleagues.
These strategies also helped me deliver information on time to lecturers and the institutions.
while online learning came with its difficulties, we still made it to the end.
My class was full of interactive charts and a community of happy diplomats and I am thankful for each one of them.
I am now more than ever equipped with knowledge and understanding of Diplomatic Practice and Protocol and how to deal with firstly personal and Household issues and most importantly national issues in my country and host country.
This opportunity has enhanced my Public Relations skills and I am more than ready for an appointment and community engagement opportunities.
it is with a delightful heart that I appreciate my Friend Nasser Karmisi who encouraged me to take this course and my mother who can not believe I am officially a Diplomat of this Country. hehehehe
Above all, I am thankful to God almighty for providing resources for me to gain the knowledge I need to be a better voice, Development Worker, and Leader in my own life, Household, Community, and Nation.
I end by saying Leadership is love, love for the people. Zambia needs more lovers.
A leader is a person, not a position, a leader loves their Nation so much and everyone in the nation.
Development can only be attained if we begin to love our neighbors as much as we love ourselves.
Diplomatic Practice is centered on empathy.
