🎓 16 PHYSIOTHERAPY GRADUANDS INDUCTED INTO THE PROFESSION

LUSAKA, 6 OCTOBER 2026 — Sixteen Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy graduands from Lusaka Apex Medical University (LAMU) have been inducted into the physiotherapy profession during a Joint Induction Ceremony held at the LAMU Mutandwa Campus in Roma.

The ceremony brought together 138 inductees from various health-related programmes, with 16 graduates representing the Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy programme, making physiotherapy one of the programmes represented under the Faculty of Health Sciences.

The physiotherapy graduands were formally welcomed into professional practice through the Physiotherapist’s Oath, administered as part of the induction programme. The occasion also provided an important opportunity for the Zambia Society of Physiotherapy (ZSP) to engage with and motivate the new generation of physiotherapists as they transition from university training into professional practice.

The ceremony followed an invitation from LAMU to the President of the Zambia Society of Physiotherapy, Mr Joseph Kamaloni, to deliver a motivational speech to the graduands. The programme included a dedicated address by the ZSP representative before the professional oath-taking session for the physiotherapy inductees.

For the 16 newly inducted physiotherapists, the occasion marked more than the completion of their university education. It represented the beginning of a professional journey in which their knowledge, skills and commitment will be translated into improved function, independence, recovery and quality of life for patients and communities.

Congratulations to the 16 new Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy graduates! 🎓👏

Welcome to the profession. Your knowledge must now become someone’s recovery.

The Vice Secretary General of Zambia Society of Physiotherapy (ZSP), Shadreck Thewo will be on ZNBC Radio 2 tonight at 18:00. He will talk about the 2026 World Physiotherapy Day Theme: Cardiovascular Diseases and Stroke.
