Jacob prevailed because he was persevering and determined. His experience testifies to the power of importunate prayer. It is now that we are to learn this lesson of prevailing prayer, of unyielding faith. The greatest victories to the church of Christ or to the individual Christian are not those that are gained by talent or education, by wealth or the favor of men. They are those victories that are gained in the audience chamber with God, when earnest, agonizing faith lays hold upon the mighty arm of power. PP.203.1

when you speak with the authority of knowledge, your speech carries more weight and impact.

During the time of Elijah,the drought in the physical realm was the reflection of the drought in the spiritual realm.

sometimes God doesn't bless us with what we are looking for; instead He blesses us with what we need.

Give time for preparation, that [you] may welcome the Lord's day with quietness of mind. By such a course you will suffer no loss even in
temporal things.

The phrase originates from 1 Samuel 15:22, where the prophet Samuel tells King Saul, "To obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams".
Saul had disobeyed God's command to destroy the Amalekites and their possessions, choosing to keep some for sacrifice, which led Samuel to deliver this crucial message.
Meaning of the Principle

Obedience over ritual: It emphasizes that God is not impressed by rituals or outward shows of piety if they are not accompanied by heartfelt obedience to His specific instructions.

Submission of will: True obedience involves a willing surrender of one's own will and desires to God's commands, allowing Him to be God in one's life.

Trust and dependence: Obedience is a demonstration of faith and trust in God's direction, whereas sacrifice can sometimes be an attempt to appease God or to substitute one's own chosen actions for His directives.
