God is a miracle worker. Nobody knows this better than me. I went from 90 days to live to, this year, celebrating living 18 years of living with HIV.

If you believe in GOD, then you know that we can go to him and ask for his healing and to rebuke the Devil's attack. However when you living with a chronic disease or prevention of a disease is in place whit not use what GOD has provided to make life easier.

I remember when I got to undetectable, the 2nd time, I was so happy. I was thanking God and my doctor. She said to me, " It is not only me who helps the process of saving lives." There are researchers, lab techs, so forth, and so on." She named those so forth's and so on's. We know now that Undetectable means that we are Untransmittable" God has not only made meds work to get us where HIV is dormant but make it impossible to transmit .

So, here's the thing, we have what we need to live a long health and amazing life with HIV. We also have a stratagey to keep people from getting HIV. Essentially this means we can END HIV.. not just the EPIDEMIC of HIV.

So apparently, Rachel lied on this young man, and accuse of a horrible thing allegedly spreading HIV, but it wasn’t true. Diagnosis

HIV can be diagnosed through rapid diagnostic tests that provide same-day results. This greatly facilitates early diagnosis and linkage with treatment and prevention. People can also use HIV self-tests to test themselves. However, no single test can provide a full HIV positive diagnosis; confirmatory testing is required, conducted by a qualified and trained health or community worker at a community centre. HIV infection can be detected with great accuracy using WHO prequalified tests within a nationally approved testing strategy and algorithm.

Most widely used HIV diagnostic tests detect antibodies produced by the person as part of their immune response to fight HIV. In most cases, people develop antibodies to HIV within 28 days of infection. During this time, people are in the so-called window period when they have low levels of antibodies which cannot be detected by many rapid tests, but may transmit HIV to others. People who have had a recent high-risk exposure and test negative can have a further test after 28 days.

Following a positive diagnosis, people should be retested before they are enrolled in treatment and care to rule out any potential testing or reporting error. While testing for adolescents and adults has been made simple and efficient, this is not the case for babies born to HIV-positive mothers. For children less than 18 months of age, rapid antibody testing is not sufficient to identify HIV infection – virological testing must be provided as early as birth or at 6 weeks of age. New technologies are now available to perform this test at the point of care and enable same-day results, which will accelerate appropriate linkage with treatment and care.

How Soon After Exposure to HIV Can an HIV Test Detect If You Are Infected?
No HIV test can detect HIV immediately after infection. If you think you’ve been exposed to HIV, in the last 72 hours, talk to your health care provider about post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP), right away.

The time between when a person gets HIV and when a test can accurately detect it is called the window period. The window period varies from person to person and also depends upon the type of HIV test.
What About False Results?
Some HIV tests have a very slight chance of giving you false results. A “false-positive” result means your test shows you have HIV when you don’t. Tests may also give you a “false-negative” result. That means the test says you don’t have HIV, but you do.

The rapid oral fluid test is more likely to give you a false-positive result than other tests. If you take a rapid oral test and get a positive result, the doctor will give you a blood test to confirm your diagnosis.

The HIV RNA or viral load test is not generally used to diagnose HIV. If you have this test done and get a positive result, the doctor may start you on HIV treatment, but you should always take an antibody test a few months later to confirm your diagnosis.
What Is a Window Period?
Despite their reliability, no HIV test can tell if you have the virus just after you’ve been exposed. Every HIV test has a different window period. That’s how long you need to wait until you can take the test and expect an accurate result.
