Question - What should I expect as a newbie to sisterlocks/microlocks?

BABY LOCS 4-6 MONTHS
After the initial stage, baby locs will form as thicker, matted strands, often still surrounded by loose hair.
This stage lasts 3 to 6 months, but can take longer for soft, fine or wavy hair.
Maintain baby locs with frequent of retie every 4 weeks with tool. Avoid washing baby locs during the first 6 to 8 weeks to keep them from unraveling from the water.Spraying with water only should be enough to direct them.

MID-STAGE LOCS 6-10 MONTHS
• Midstage locs show budding like the knots on a tree branch and develop some of the thick matting of mature locs. Do not cut out these buds. Mid-stage locs can sometimes bunch or merge together into tough locs, so be sure to carefully pull them apart. Locs at this stage should be washed gently every 3-4 weeks.

MATURE LOCS 10-24+ MONTHS
• Depending on your hair texture, you should expect to reach lock maturity sometime after the first 10months, but this may take up to 2 years. Those of black ancestry can expect fully mature locs within 18 to 24 months. The hair will continue to grow, and the roots will need to be re-tightened in order to integrate the frizz into your locks.
Mature locs are strong and require very little grooming.Dress your locs with beads, shells, natural color. headbands, or jewels.
