DIY Body Scrub

Making body scrubs at home is very easy, and you'll save loads of money. Learn how to make your own DIY body scrubs - whether it's with sugar, salt, or coffee. The combinations are endless!

Here’s the basic equation I follow when making my own scrub.

Basic Homemade Body Scrub Recipe
1 cup exfoliant
1/2 cup liquid (see liquid options discussed below)
2–3 tablespoons of fun add-ins
Put the exfoliant in a bowl and add liquid slowly, stirring as you go. You want a consistency that you can scoop with your hand, so don’t let the texture get too runny. Add optional add-ins and mix again. Store in a container

Exfoliant options
Salt
Salt is a wonderful choice when you want a good overall body exfoliation, eliminating the scaly, dry patches of dead skin. Because it’s a lot coarser than sugar, it’s best to use salt on rough areas like elbows, knees, and the feet.

Our favourites are

Kalahari dessert salt
Epsom salt
Sea salt
Kosher salt
Himlayan

Sugar
Sugar can also be used to exfoliate your body, especially if you tend to shave your legs and scrub at the same time. Choose sugar over salt to avoid the sting. If you’re looking to exfoliate your face, you’ll want to use something finer than salt, as it can be a little too abrasive.

Fine sugar (such as caster sugar) is a great exfoliant for your face.

Try:

Brown sugar
Caster sugar
Sucanat or cane sugar

Coffee grounds
Coffee is another favorite for exfoliating—and it’s earth-friendly when you put used grounds to good use. Ground coffee can treat cellulite as an exfoliant

Baking soda
One of the most versatile items you probably already have in your home is baking soda. This easy cleanser is great for all skin types but works especially well on oily skin.

Mix a teaspoon of baking soda into your facial cleanser or make a paste of just baking soda and honey to balance the pH and absorb excess oil.

Oatmeal
If your skin tends to be on the sensitive side, you might want to check out the effectiveness of oats as a physical exfoliant. You can use oats for a gentle body scrub or even as a facial scrub alternative.

The first step to your skin solution is knowing your skin type # this is a do it yourself guide Guide for a Natural Skincare Routine and knowing your skin type⭐
⭐the target is finding a natural skincare regimen . Your mission to acquire clear, healthy skin begins with a solid skincare routine. There are natural, simple and inexpensive options that work, and without harmful ingredients.
The best combination of natural skin care options varies based on skin type. There are mainly four different types of skin: oily, dry, normal and combination. Knowing your skin type will help you put together a routine that suits your skin’s specific needs.
The steps, in order, of a basic skincare routine:
Cleanse
Exfoliate
Mask
Tone
Moisturize
Sunscreen
The absolute simplest skincare routine includes only cleansing and moisturizing.
🌟DIY's that you can do at home
Oily Skin
Switching to gentle and natural skin care options often goes a long way toward removing excess oil production, but in the meantime, there are some natural ingredients that can help prevent breakouts and remove excess oil.
To Exfoliate: A mix of equal parts sea salt and oil (like olive or almond) creates a natural scrub that will help remove impurities without stripping excess oils.
To Cleanse: Oil Cleansing is my go-to cleansing method for any skin type. Generally, those with oily skin will need a higher amount of castor oil in relation to the other oils to keep skin from becoming too oily during transition. In general, a half and half mix of castor oil and olive oil or even a 2/3 castor oil 1/3 olive oil mix seems to work best.
Moisturizing/Toning: Those with oily skin will need less moisturizing as skin adjusts, and often, the natural oils from oil cleansing are enough. If not, a very light layer of jojoba oil works, or for those who find that too oily, a diluted apple cider vinegar toner helps keep oil at bay. A tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in a cup of water stored in the fridge works great.
